A total of 728 ideas have been submitted under the four categories of Ncell App Camp, country's biggest mobile app development conclave. The registration process to participate in the competition has been closed from 12 noon, today.

Out of the four categories, utilities category has received the maximum number of applications with 290 app ideas. Similarly, 153 ideas have been submitted under tourism category and 147 ideas under health category. Games and entertainment category holds the least number of applications with 138 app ideas. All categories, except for tourism, are new to this year’s Ncell App Camp.

The registration for the competition has almost doubled this year. While last year 457 app ideas were submitted for the competition, the response this year has been overwhelming. 728 submissions within a span of 40 days for registration show youth's interest to establish their own innovative businesses and their enthusiasm to drive the country towards digitization.

As per the rules, a team is required to have minimum 2 and maximum 5 members in each team. Teams are required to submit their app idea that fits under any of the competition categories.
The submitted ideas will be reviewed and evaluated by a selection committee on the basis of four criterias - importance of problem the app aims to solve, business potential, global scalability, and articulation and presentation. The top 150 teams will be announced online on 23rd September, 2015 at www.ncellappcamp.com.

The selected teams will then participate in seminars and training sessions in November to acquire sound knowledge on the practices of app making and comprehend key points to convert their app into a real business. Various national and international experts will impart knowledge on different aspects of mobile app making, business development, idea pitching and presentation techniques that will help them further refine their ideas and come up with a MVP (Minimum Viable Product).

Once the teams submit their MVP, 6 best ideas from each category – that is 24 teams in total – will be selected for the final competition. The category winners will win a cash prize of Rs. 250,000 each and the grand winner will bag additional Rs. 500,000 in cash along with Ncell sponsorship to participate in a similar overseas app camp in 2016.
